On Wednesday, July 27th ARC’s Junior Board and Event Host Committee – a combined group of forty-one young professionals – hosted a party at Greenhouse, New York’s first eco-friendly nightclub, to raise funds for and build awareness for the need to conserve Tanzania’s Eastern Arc rainforests. Over 150 guests came out to show their support, while enjoying organic cocktails, beer, and wine, sampling mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres, and trying their luck at coveted raffle prizes.

Funds raised at the event will allow ARC to plant 22,000 trees – nearly the same number of trees found in NYC’s Central Park. In partnership with the Earth Day Network and the UNEP’s Billion Tree Campaign, ARC has pledged to plant one million trees during the next year with its field partner the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group. Stay tuned for more campaign highlights throughout the coming months.
